When manufacturing hardened and tempered plates, flatness defects and internal stresses cannot be avoided even with the most up-to-date line technology. Levelling with simultaneous reduction of the internal stresses is thus imperative after heat treatment. ThyssenKrupp has overcome this challenge with the precision leveller newly developed by Andritz Sundwig, manufacturing plates of so far unattained quality levels.
