CMC Steel in Mesa, USA, is the world’s first steelmaker operating the new generation of Danieli continuous casting-rolling compact micro-mills. Designed to be competitive even for small production capacities, the CMC plant proved capable of establishing a competitive advantage of approx. 50 $/t in transformation costs compared to a traditional mini-mill.
