Latest breakthrough technologies in industrial operation

Some of the technical highlights of Danieli technologies are the efficient evaporative cooling in EAF fume treatment and waste heat recovery, with consequent fuel saving and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions being a must to be considered in modern electric steelmaking. Followed by the jumbo-size 420-t twin DC FastArc EAF at Tokyo Steel, Japan, the world largest ever-built EAF with advanced technologies considering productivity and process efficiency. CMC Steel in Mesa, USA, is the world’s first steelmaker operating the new generation of Danieli continuous casting-rolling compact micro-mills. Designed to be competitive even for small production capacities, the CMC plant proved capable of establishing a competitive advantage of approx. 50 $/t in transformation costs compared to a traditional mini-mill.
